Today started off with a bang, literally, I dropped a very large, heavy cutting board right onto my toes. Naturally, I went into a state of denial for about an hour. I went so far as to put my sneakers on to go for a run, couldn’t even walk from the pain of just wearing the shoes, and like the grown ass 29 year old woman I am, I felt sorry for myself and cried. I 100% know that I was being totally ridiculous. I’ve had a non-stop series of foot/leg related injuries on and off since last spring and was finally feeling good and getting back into my running rhythm just to (potentially) break my toe, so realistically I was just frustrated and bummed that I brought this on myself…again. I finally came back down to reality and decided there was only one logical thing to do – accept it and make @kalejunkie’s life changing chocolate chip tahini cookies.
.
I don’t have much of a moral to this story except that sometimes things are out of your hands, they don’t go as planned, and/or they just straight up suck. But sometimes you just gotta accept it. Life goes on, some things are a much smaller deal than you’re making them out to be in the grand scheme of it all, and time heals (toes included). And also, most importantly, cookies are never a bad idea, and I have faith these ones will get this dang toe healed up ASAP. Make sure to check out this delicious recipe on Nicole’s blog! #kalejunkie #lifechanged
