So this was my first attempt at making a Cherry Bakewell, my favourite desert to eat as a kid, and I think I did a pretty good job. The taste certainly made up for the presentation!
Why don’t you give it a try and let me know how you get on. You’ll need:
2 medium free-range eggs
150g caster sugar
150g ground almonds
1 tablespoon double cream
4 tablespoons of Morello cherry preserve or jam
1 tablespoon flaked almonds
